Present indefinite tense is easy to make, but it is a bit
hard to use. In this lesson, I am just going to teach you how to make it. We
will learn about its usage in the next lesson. Present tense is very first of
English tenses.
Present = write
Past = wrote
Past participle = written
Present participle = writing
Present form is used for present indefinite tense.
For example:-
She gets up early in the morning.
“Gets” is a verb
telling us that the above sentence is in present indefinite tens.
How many sentences do we usually make?
We can make three types of sentences of present indefinite
tense.
- Affirmative sentence
- Negative sentence
- Interrogative sentence
Let learn them, one by one
1- Affirmative sentence
If he, she, it or any singular noun comes as a subject in a
sentence, we add “s” or “es” to present form of verb; as,
Go = goes
Write = writes
Eat = eats
- She always goes to school.
- He sometimes writes his friends.
- Ahmed eats mangoes a lot.
2- Negative sentence
If he, she, it or any singular noun comes as a subject in a
sentence, we use “does not” after a subject, and present form of verb remain
same.
Go
Write
Eat
- She does not go to school.
- He does not write his friends.
- Ahmed does not eat mangoes a lot.
3 -Interrogative Sentence
If he, she, it or any singular noun comes as a subject in a
sentence, at first we use “does” then, subject and a question make”?” comes at
the end of sentence.
- Does she go to school?
- Does he write his friend?
- Does Ahmed eat mangoes a lot?
Note we don’t you “s” or “es” with verb when I, you, we they
or any plural noun comes as a subject in a sentient. The first letter of a word
should be in Capital letter; as, “Dose” , I, She etc …
